My husband and I adopted our
daughter from the Yangjiang Social Welfare Institute in Guangdong
province. It was chosen for the first project that started in December
1998 and that was completed in May of 1999. Since that time, several
other projects have been completed. Now approximately 2,800 families
have pictures of their child's location site and pictures they may not
have otherwise had.
My contact (who is the photographer and who
lives in China) is a very brilliant, very trusting, and well respected
individual who has worked in the adoption field for many years. We both
believe that the children will need what is obtained in the projects as
they grow older, and we are honored to help them obtain 'pieces of their
history' in pictures.
